Personas will allow you to level and play alternate class 'personas' on the same character. This enables leveling from adventure level 1 to max on each class while still playing the same character, having access to the same equipment, and credit for completing the same quests and achievements.

Q: How does Spell Research work with Personas? (for servers with spell research)

Q: How do Heroic Characters work with Personas? (for servers with heroic characters)

- Note: No Persona Slots are refunded with this process to the source account they transfer with the character.
Q: How do tradeskill classes work with Personas?
A: Tradeskill classes are unchanged and do not interact with the Persona feature.
Q: Are Personas going to be part of the new expansion?
A: Yes, Personas are an expansion feature.
Q: These are to unlock one specific class for one specific character instead of an account slot for all characters (outside of the initial feature purchase), correct?
A: Yes, each character unlocks individual Persona classes.
Q: Does that mean that using the in-game betrayal mechanic will no longer allow archetypes to perform a class change? No more SK to Pally? Defiler to Mystic? Will the betrayal tokens be removed from the DBC shop?
A: Yes, once a character has any Persona the in-game betrayal mechanic will not allow a class change.
Q: Is it possible to delete Personas?
A: A character cannot delete a Persona.
Q: I'm curious how faction-locked classes will work with Personas. Can a dark elf bound to Neriak create a conjuror Persona?
A: Any city alignment may add any class as a Persona. The only classes that are restricted as a Persona are classes that are disallowed on the server such as Beastlords before Age of Discovery has unlocked on a server, or Channelers before Tears of Veeshan has unlocked on a server.
Q: Will characters only be able to have all good aligned/neutral classes or all evil aligned/neutral classes for their main class and Personas? If so, could they later decide to change to the other alignment/city? Not really sure how to word this, in general wondering how the alignment/city class restriction thing is going to work with Personas.
A: Personas themselves do not prevent city alignment changes, the various betrayal systems have different mechanics preventing certain classes from using them to align with a city. Those betrayal systems and their mechanics are being evaluated and we are discussing if and how they should be adjusted.
Q: Are tradeskill Personas definitely off the table in the future?
A: Tradeskill Personas are a possibility in the future but are not currently on any internal schedules.
Q: Will there be a feature that allows us to merge existing characters into another character's Persona? Basically, consolidating all characters into one?
A: No, there will not be a feature allowing multiple characters to merge into a single characters Persona.
Q: Does this mean my 135 illusionist will have to level up a Persona starting at 1?
A: Yes, each Persona has to level individually.
Q: For example, if you are a wizard and choose to Persona a fury. Do u use same gear as the wizard?
A: No, gear class restrictions remain unchanged.
Q: What about languages and L&Ls. Do each of the Personas share them? If you maintain the same quest completions, not sure how you could do them again?
A: Languages and quests are not linked to the Persona, so once a character has obtained a language or completed a quest it is obtained or completed for all of that characters Personas.
Q: Once a quest has been completed on the "main character" that makes it unavailable for any Personas or can you repeat the quests on the Persona to level it? If so, how will that work at 100+ where the only way to level is by the signature lines? Or am I missing something completely?
A: Quests are stored on the character, not the Persona. Which quests can be repeated on a character does not change with the introduction of Personas.
Q: Is there a way to opt out of that feature completely?
A: No changes to the character happen unless a Persona is added to the character, which is done manually at character select. For example, the betrayal system no longer allowing a character to use it to switch between classes is a character specific restriction that only applies to characters that have added a Persona.
Q: Are main character and its Persona(s) sharing the same inventory? bank? broker?
A: Inventory is character specific. A character’s Personas all access the same inventory, quest Journal, etc.
Q: When I create a Persona, will the newly created Persona right off the bat be able to use the Rage of Cthurath mercenaries, mounts and familiars that my level 135 unlocked through research or will the Persona be required to get to level 130 before they can use them?
A: Any items that require a specific level to use require that level on the Persona that is using it. For example, a mount that requires level 135 to summon will require the Persona to be level 135 to summon it. A spell effect that scales by level or does not apply until a certain level, scales at the level of the Persona that has it applied to or will not apply until the Persona is of the correct level.
Other than the level requirement, there would be no restriction for a character with familiars or mounts unlocked through research from using them.
